Ethan Needs 2 Hands To Show His Age

 

The day has finally come when you have to use 2 hands to "show" people how old you are!  As if you really care because you are like the most awesome little boy and you get more awesome every day!!!  We had a great time at Party City for your birthday party.  You had a great turnout of family and friends and we all enjoyed acting like kids again!  You, Jackson and Spencer got together and worked me over so you could have a sleepover!  As much I hated not cuddling with you on your birthday . . . . . you boys had a great time staying up as late as you possibly could.  I love seeing your Dad turn into a kid again!!!  Son, you are such a light in this world and we couldn't possibly love you more!!!!!!!!!!! LHK Always!!!!!

Where do I start?  Today was the first day of Kindergarten.  I had to put my big girl panties on and take you by myself because your Dad had to go to work, BOOOO.  I told myself I was NOT going to cry, no way, no how!  There is just something about leaving your baby for the first time in the care of people you've met a handful of times.  So many thoughts go through your head like "Will he get lost?  Will he remember his teacher's name in the event he gets lost?  Will he be scared?  What if he gets hurt on the playground??  Will they hold him until it's better?  Will he feel like he's all alone in a big, new world?  Will he miss me?"  Every single step I took walking out of that school got harder and harder and harder.  I felt a huge tug to not leave.  You see, it's hard to take such a huge part of your heart and leave it in the hands of strangers but I did and you did were just fine.  I will say the first day of Kindergarten for you, son, was the LONGEST. DAY. OF. MY. LIFE. EVER!  I was so excited to pick you up I got there like an hour early.  Your first day could not have gone better and now you are officially "a big kid"!  I love you to the moon and back!  LH&K Always!!!!!

I love how you kids just adapt!  You adapt, thrive, grow, love and enjoy taking on new adventures and it fits just PERFECT in how your Dad and I live our lives.  There is no telling what adventure we have planned up our sleeve next but there is one thing I know . . . . . you guys are going to be the best sports about it!  I have video of us going down the big, dark waterslide for the first time.  I may come back and post it if I decide to show the world just how much my anxiety gets the best of me when I feel out of control in situations I am in with you 2 and how calm and confident your Daddy is.  You kids are VERY LUCKY to have a Father who is strong, confident, loves you, loves God, prays for you, puts you first in everything he does and loves your Momma!   Kids, I pray you each find someone who loves you like your Dad and I love each other!!!!!!!!!!!!  LHK Always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was Ethan's first belt test.  He started out with a white belt and he passed the test and earned and gray and white belt.  I'm proud of my little BJJ fighter!!!! LH&K Always!!!!
