Mother's Day

I can't believe there is one day set aside to be Mother's Day. Every single day of my life since Sept 7th 2006 has been Mother's Day for me. How could it not? I guess it's nice knowing my Mom and Mother-In-Law feel extra special on this day but shouldn't I strive to make them feel extra special every day? They ARE the great and wonderful women that raised us who are my childrens "Nana" & "GG". I can't imagine not being able to pick up the phone and call either of them to see if the bacon is still good, if the boiled eggs need to be thrown out or call when my kids are sick.

Some of you may be thinking I'm crazy not to think mother's day is special. It is special because it's another day I get to spend with my kids. I don't put a lot of stock into Mother's Day as a day and here is why. Monday night I cuddled Ethan in his bed while he fell asleep. He raised his head one time and kissed my arm TWICE. He raised his head again a few minutes later and kissed my arm once more. He didn't do this on Mother's Day. He just picked a random day, moment in time, to remind me how important I am to him. It brought tears to my eyes and I held him a little closer than normal and prayed to God longer than normal thanking him for this precious boy he gave me. I feel extra special every day of my life. My children do something every single day that reminds how blessed I am that God chose me to be their mother. And Addison honey, your smile wakes me up each morning and puts me to sleep each night.

So you see, I love every moment of being a mom. You children make every day I have on this earth extra special. I love you both so very much! LH&K Always!

Pre-Mother's Day At School

Friday morning we had a Mother's Day event at Ethan and Addison's school. Ethan gave me a bag full of goodies which had his handprint and a bracelet he made for me. The handprint had this written on it "Sometimes you get discouraged because I am so small and I always leave my fingerprints on furniture and walls. But every day I am growing, I will be grown someday and all those tiny handprints will surely fade away. So, here's a little handprint so you can recall exaclty how my fingers looked when I was very small." I was the only Mommy in the room crying. I felt like a nerd because I had the hardest time stopping my tears. I was overwhelmed with emotion and my mind went back to just 3 1/2 years ago when I felt so many feelings of desperation trying to get pregnant. Sitting there holding my son while he gave me gifts that his little hands made truely was a priceless moment for me. I love you both more than ever. LH&K Always!

Ethan Gets Dressed

I sat Ethan's cloths out and told him to dress himself. He came running to our room looking like this. I couldn't help but laugh and praise him for doing such a good job.

My Soul Is Full of Sunshine Even If It's Raining

When I see the two of you interact together at such a young age my heart fills up with sunshine. We have spent the entire weekend together inside playing. I'm not sure how many times we have watched Veggietales, Madagascar 2 or Ice Age: The Meltdown. I have loved every single minute BUT it's time for the rain to move on. We need some sunshine to hit our winter skin before we head to the beach. LH&K Always!

"We're Going To Do Man Things Momma"

Ethan came running in the house Saturday morning yelling "We're gonna do MAN things Momma" as loud as he could. Bryan decided to grease the wheel barrings on the trailor of his fishing boat Saturday morning since the weather was nasty anyway. They didn't get done until 1pm. It took all the energy my little man had to eat his pizza for lunch and I didn't get the usual complaints about taking a nap. Bryan must have worked him hard. LH&K Always!

Mr. Mischievous and Ms. Priss

Ethan is such a great big brother. He loves holding her and I think she could watch him for hours and stay entertained. It's almost like they already know their relationship is a special one filled with love. I hope Ethan is as protective of his little sister as my older brothers were of me. We don't get to see them near as much as we would like and hope they know how much we love and miss them! LH&K Always!

First Fishing Trip of the Summer

This was the first fishing trip of the year on the boat. Ethan didn't catch anything, neither did Daddy, but we had fun. I lost my new sunglasses in the water trying to get a snapshot of you boys fishing...argh! Oh well, now I have an excuse to buy another pair :) LH&K Always!

Our Week At A Glance

I have been trying to get back into an exercise routine this week. Ethan and Daddy go play T-ball in the back yard while I run and Addison plays in her exercauser watching mommy and veggie tales. It is amazing how much life changes when you have kids. In the past I would run to the music of my choice that kept me motivated. Now I run to Veggie Tales or Backyardigans. I put Addison in Ethan's room one evening this week while I finished dinner so they could watch Madagascar together. I had to sneak a picture of them. I just LOVE seeing the two of them growing up together! I hope they are as close in their relationship as they are in age. Daddy took Ethan to get his staples out yesterday. He didn't shed a tear. He is so strong already, just like his daddy! Ok, I am randomly rambling on so I will sign off for now. We have a fun weekend planned. I look forward to spending every free second I have with you both! I feel like the luckiest woman on earth, thanks to the two of you and your Daddy!!!! LH&K Always!

Ethan and The Tea Pot

I took these pictures with my phone on Friday at the Ped's office while we were waiting on the doctor to come in and assess the damage. For those you wondering what may have caused the trauma to my son's head.....it was a plastic tea pot. Yes, he was hit in the head with a plastic tea pot by another little boy at daycare Friday afternoon. You are probably scratching your head and thinking the very same thing I did when I got there to see him....."are you sure that tea pot wasn't cast iron"???? Dr. Stanford comes in to assess the damage and informs me that Ethan will need staples in his head. I about fell out. "STAPLES", seriously? They gave him a shot in his scalp to numb it up and then put 2 staples in his head. Bryan got there just in time to help hold Ethan down. Son, as strong as your daddy is he melted like butter on a hot summer day when you started crying for him. It is the first time in forever that I saw tears forming and his voice shaky as he did his best to comfort you. He managed to pull himself together after a short breakdown and was your strong rock as he is for all of us! So, this a special shout out to Daddy.....your great, awesome and ALWAYS our ROCK.....your the BEST!!!!! LH&K Always!

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday is always such a special day. It is a day that I don't want to remember how much pain and suffering our Jesus Christ had to do so that our sins could be forgiven because it really is too much for me to comprehend. But, we have to be reminded of this so we can give thanks and praise for what he did for all of us. I pray that God will continue to give your Dad and I the wisdom to be the parents you so much deserve. We went left for church it was sprinkling outside. When we came out, it was pouring rain. It was funny. Your Dad and I decided to make a run for it. I got Ethan part of the way out in the rain and said "NO WAY"...so we watched Daddy run with Addison to the truck. They came and picked us up under the covered parking area. Needless to say, we hunted eggs inside. Cousins Fayth and AJ came over to eat lunch and hunt eggs. After they left we got to spend some wonderful time with the two of you. I finally got to rock Ethan to sleep in what feels like forever! Daddy came and got you after a while so I could rock Addison to sleep too. That made for an even more special day for me. You two kids melt our hearts and we just love you to pieces!!!!!!! LK&H Always!

Cousin AJ's T-Ball Pre-Season Game

Cousin AJ had his first T-ball game this past Saturday. It was a pre-season game. I'm not real sure what the difference is between a pre-season and regular season since they don't keep score anyway. It really doesn't matter because all the kids look so adorable playing ball that you don't care how many runs each team has. Daddy had to work, so it was just the 3 of us rushing around trying to get to the ball fields by 10am. We did not make it on time but we did manage to see the last 25 minutes. Ethan had so much fun.

Thanks for the dress Great-Nanny!

What a sweet baby girl you are. Your Daddy and I could not have gotten a better baby than you if we had put the specs together ourselves. You have slept through the night since the day you were born, you love the water and are most adorable. You don't hesitate to holla when your hungry or need a new diaper. When you get sleepy you want to be left alone. Your Daddy seems to think this is a really good thing. I beg to differ. I want to hold you and rock you to sleep but you don't want any part of that most of the time. You are already little miss independent and it makes me so sad. I look at your Daddy all the time while holding you and all I can say is "I just love her". Your my sweet, sweet girl! LH&K Always!
